The coffee is really good tasting fresh not too strong which is great cuz I'm more of a tea drinker. So far I've only tried two Skillets because they're great everyone has been wonderful and the biscuits and gravy on the side. They have some unusual dishes they're kind of American southern style and Mexican they have liver and onions and even alligator sausage and catfish. Catfish for breakfast! Being raised by Scottish British parents we had unusual foods too. Only you have to go before 9 on Sunday because everybody has gone to church or looking for a breakfast brunch place is there or in the afternoon otherwise they'll be no parking and a line Update... I have now tried to Monte Cristo sandwich it is excellent a great replica of the famous Monte Cristo sandwich and also even a grilled cheese is great. I tried the liver and onions it was okay but since I'm British I felt mine's better LOL. Tried a few other things off the menu so far nothing has disappointed me. Very friendly and nice wait staff and always attentive. Since I've now been going there at least once every two weeks sometimes once a week if you go on Sunday you have to get there before 9 or you might as well wait till after 1 or 2 because the after church crowd is there you're going to wait 45 minutes to an hour to get a seat. Sometimes as a single person I can sneak up at the sit down bar. Saturday's may be easier but I tend to go pretty early or if I'm doing errands later in the afternoon to avoid the public route. Dinner hour is not a problem not too many people and you can also get a glass of wine with your dinner which is great... and they have some good choices.
Love this place! Great service, friendly staff and yummy food. Had chicken waffle for the 1st time ever and it was yummy but next time I’ll ask for both to be crispier. I was disappointed that the chicken wasn’t crispy but the flavor reminded me of my moms fried chicken. I have enjoyed everything I’ve eaten here AND my picky husband who never like quaint country places loves this one and loves the chicken!
Our waitress Robbie gave us suggestions which made ordering easier. The food is on point. Robbie kept checking on us to make sure we did not need anything. I highly recommend this place and if you are lucky Robbie will be your waitress
Stayed across the street from this gem this weekend while visiting family. Ended up eating here three times in three days. First visit, I had the Monte Cristo sandwich, which was a life-changing experience. It was absolutely delicious! Second visit, I had the Belgian waffle with bacon in the batter and topped with blueberries and whipped cream. Again, delicious! Third visit, dessert for breakfast! I had a slice of the Hank's Harvest pie with a side of eggs. My sister ordered the Lipsmacker brownie waffle. My brother had the apple pie. We've all resolved that Kountry Folks is a new favorite staple on our California road trips. Thank you for the incredible komfort food!
Great place!! They are not ashamed of the Gospel! We are in town looking at CBU and this place was great! I highly recommend it! Thank you Jesus!
