Dickey's Barbecue Pit - Riverview

I really appreciate the employees, especially Cheryl and her friend; they are wonderful. However, the manager or owner, who is always present, treats the staff poorly. I've never heard him say anything kind. During my last visit, he snapped at one of the employees for not informing me about a dish that was out of stock. The staff deserves 5 stars, but the owner gets 0 stars. If my dad didn't enjoy the food at Dickies, I wouldn't consider coming back.

While we genuinely enjoy the food at Dickey's, we won't be returning to this location. It recently closed due to a walkout by the staff. Over time, I've left tips for the employees because we often placed large orders and they worked incredibly hard. However, I later discovered that the owner keeps all the tips meant for the employees. The owner has now reopened the location but is having to step in to work himself since he’s struggling to retain staff and losing money while it was closed. I have to say, he’s not the friendliest person I’ve met either.

I am surprised at all the 1 stars and wonder if they are mostly from a long time ago or take out because I went in today after swim lessons next door and they were so friendly and took our order quickly. It was before normal lunch time on a Wednesday. I can understand why people say that it's too expensive, but for good quality meats etc and all of the shortages and inflation, I totally get it. I ordered the smoked chicken plate with two sides and got the green beans and coleslaw and it came with a roll, my daughter got the kielbasa kids meal with macaroni cheese and it also came with a roll and we each got a drink and a cookie. I also chose to tip it was 31 so I didn't think it was bad at all. The food was tasty, They have a little bar with sliced pickles, onion 3 different bbq sauces. I got the spicy barbecue and thought it was good. The inside is really cute too although I will say it is a little awkward that when you stand to order you're really close to people eating at their tables. All in all I thought it was a pretty good spot for lunch and definitely think they are better than the rating they currently have.

I placed an online order which was quick and easy. I ordered the brisket sandwich with drink and ribs. Outside and inside was clean of debris, it was moderately busy inside, I let employee know I was there for pick up, employee was polite. Pricing was okay but for the portion of ribs I would've liked meatier ribs. The ribs were good but on the dry side, I asked for once spicy sauce and one sweet sauce on side, unfortunately I received 2 spicy. The beef brisket sandwich was absolutely phenomenal, juicy, flavorful, and tender. I would absolutely recommend that brisket to everyone. Overall good experience, not the best ribs, but I will go back to try different dishes.

A great experience all together. My boyfriend and I visited for the first time. Staff explained options of food choices and current specials. The service was quick, the food was hot and soooo yummy! We had the brisket, pulled pork, waffle fries, green beans, chicken spinach tacos, chicken and cheese sandwich, and asiago cheese creamed spinach. There were 3 barbecue sauces available: sweet, original and spicy on the condiment bar along with pickles and onions. The BBQ sauces were amazing!! Already told friends to come visit this place when they go to the AMC Riverview theater nearby.
