Saturday started off with a bit of drizzle, so after the usual errands we decided to try a good Pho place not far from Hurstville and google said the nearest is Song Huong in Riverwood. Then off we go. The restaurant was not hard to locate as it is in the center of the business area of Riverwood. Parking is available around the corner. <br/ <br/ We arrived around 1:30 pm and the place is bustling. Luckily, there were still available tables. We were seated in the middle aisle. It is just a small shop but can seat more than 50 people. The menu is easy to browse as there are pictures, labels, prices and description. We ordered the Beef and Beef Ball Rice noodle soup and Salt and Pepper Pork Chop. <br/ <br/ It was a bit of a wait, maybe because there were so many customers that time. When our orders came, I was pretty happy because the service size is huge. The bub enjoyed the soup very much. It was a good comforting soup. Savory with a hint of sweetness. Yum yum. Perfect for the rainy weather. The Salt and Pepper pork chop was good but nothing memorable. <br/ <br/ Total cost of our lunch was $26. Didn't have any leftovers. Yes, even if the serving size were as big as our faces, we were THAT hungry. :
Nice tasting pho for a very reasonable price. One bowl has a generous serving of noodles and meat which always leaves me satisfied. Delicious fragrant broth perfect for a cold night. The only downside is the service can be a hit or miss.
I frequently visit this place for Viet food in the south. Food here tastes great, and come in large portions to give you a very satisfying meal. It is quite busy here during peak hours, however the turnover is relatively fast as service is fast even when it's busy. Love the durian shake here. With great business, they are slowly increasing the pricing, however with it's established customer base and consistent good food, I'll continue to return over lower quality Viet food of similar price any day.
I went here on a Monday night with my partner and there were quite a few customers. I have been here before on a Friday night and it was so packed, people had to wait outside. When we got inside, my friend and I had to share a table with randoms. <br/ <br/ I would say Song Huong has very affordable Vietnamese dishes with large portions! <br/ <br/ The Spring rolls 8 pieces for $10 were pretty good, with pork meat inside, seasoned well and came with a dipping sauce, carrot and lettuce. In comparison to spring rolls I've had in other places, these were worth the money! <br/ <br/ The Pho Dac Biet $13 only came in one size and had a generous amount of meat and alot of noodles! I thought the broth was good. <br/ <br/ Service was fast and the waiter was nice. Would come back again :
This is one of my favourite Vietnamese Pho restaurant that I have encountered so far. I have always come here because I am in love with their Pho. <br/ Customer service was good for me every time I go there and have not experienced any negative yet. <br/ The food is worth the price, as you get large portions. <br/ Price is decent enough. <br/ <br/ Always seeing a crowd outside of the restaurants during lunch till dinner time. The bigger the group size, the more you would have to wait for your turn until there is enough space or otherwise, the group would need to be cut down. The ambience is quiet small and with a lot of customers everyday means that it can be packed till there is not space to sit and will bring stools if not enough.<br/ <br/ Pho dish consists with sweet broth, lots of noodles and meat, comes with those leafy greens and bean sprout. <br/ If you order a rice or dry noodle dish, you get the sweet chilli sauce and a bowl of soup. <br/ <br/ What I have tried, cost and ratings: <br/ Special beef nice noodle soup $13 (5 stars) <br/ Raw beef noodle soup $11 (5 stars) (I always get this) <br/ Crispy skin chicken with rice $11 (4.5 stars)<br/ Lychee drink $4 (3 stars because it is nice but way too sweet) <br/ Cendol sweet drink $5 (3.5 stars) <br/ <br/ At the end I would definitely recommend this restaurant. These are my own opinions and ratings on food.
