Smokey Bones Roanoke

Not bad but being on a Monday when we visited they were out of a few items some in our party wanted. They are hit and miss with the bbq items. My rack of baby back ribs still had the membrane on back. That's a no-no for pork ribs. Otherwise everything else was OK.

Took quite a while to be seated, they are not busy at all. Told 4 times someone would be with us shortly. Food took nearly 45 minutes to get to the table. Waitress was friendly and apologized twice for the length of the wait. Second visit in 2 months..won’t make it a habit, both times the food took entirely too long. I could see if they were busy but they weren’t.*Stay away from the Mexican street corn, definitely not good!*Waitresses all on their phones, no paper towels in the bathrooms.

Terrible quantity. Ordered three Chili's.. I have a photo...one full chili and two containers with less than an inch a piece. 43 dollars for one soup.and two side salads. Never again

Let me tell you! Katie, the bartender, is AMAZING! She is friendly, precise, and quick! I would most DEFINITELY recommend people come go to Smokey bones when she is working!!!On the other hand, the “bar manager, Tyler” is not a delight. I wrote the BBB on him! He introduced his self as the bar manager two Fridays without even ansking…and is very cocky. He refused to have the bartender make us a drink that was clearly on the menu, the Friday prior. He said that their Smokey Bones wasn’t allowed to make them. I asked him why would they offer it on the menu AND why would they make it for us the Friday before that? He said their Smokey bones offer items that are available in other states but not in VA! I pulled up the liquor ordinance and read it to him AND expressed that the SAME DRINK was served just a week prior. He stated that other bar managers do what other things!!!I’m thankful that Katie can redeem the negative view I had on Smokey bones! When Tyler came a bartending, I will not be a customer…but when Katie is, I definitely will!!!

The bartender Katie is the best!Absolutely love her. She’s fast, friendly, and attentive. I highly recommend going there when she’s working!!!
