Brown engraving was best I have hand everywhere. My wife's western omelet was strange. We didn't know that ham could be cut so small. Then there's the WASSER, pure yuch. I'd say unfiltered ****. Unless the filter was left behind for years. Can't find out how coffee was good and table wTer si bad. I'm a local, so I talked to others. Basically the same extension.
I was excited to find out that the diner is under new management, but I was disappointed to see that the menu still features only basic Southern options. The Shepherd's Pie, for example, is not the traditional British version; it resembles more of a pancake stuffed with layers of hamburger and corn, topped with mashed potatoes. There are no carrots or cheese included, which is quite unusual. Additionally, there were no daily specials to entice diners. I believe that offering a signature dish, like a casserole, would enhance the menu, as would incorporating more British and European cuisine. Overall, the menu feels limited, lacking creativity and variety, which detracts from its overall appeal.
The Harrow Road Cafe opened a few weeks ago in 2020 under new, experienced management and features an entirely revamped menu. It’s also fantastic for take-out. Ella's cakes, whether by the slice or whole, are particularly popular—though she occasionally has to battle to keep them stocked, the wait is definitely worthwhile. There are picnic tables outside, making it easy to enjoy your meal while maintaining distance. There’s truly something for everyone!
Bland food and very slow service. As much as an hour are cooked for food. High prices and limited menu. Best to avoid.
This restaurant is the worst dining experience in the area. The wait times are long, and the music is awful. I witnessed an argument among the staff. The prices are steep, and the food is excessively greasy. There are limited options for kids, and the hours of operation are unaccommodating. It’s almost as disappointing as Historic Rugby, where the café is situated.
