The gammon looked good the beef was like a rag end and no third option. Yorkshire puddings were so sad and the veg looked warmed up from yesterday. So we opted for an all day breakfast, it was off as they had no sausage, I suggested an extra bacon rasher. When it came one had 2 sausages!! The plate was just a greasy mess the bacon was covered in black fat. Not good at all. The pub looks like it needs a good clean the chairs in the conservatory were absolutely filthy. All in all a pretty unpleasant experience we will not return.
My wife I try to visit a different restaurant each week, low cost or high cost and tonights meal was without doubt the worst meal I can ever remember having even worse that Wetherspoons , and that says a lot. I had a carvery meal and the meats were OK but the veg were all dry to the point of even like solid. My wife had a chicken concoction that was nothing like it described on the menu BUT it was also absolutely stone cold. I complained and we actually got two sweets complimentary I had sticky toffee pudding with (supposedly) warm custard when it came the custard was in a small s/steel jug it was again absolutely stone cold. On my way out I took it and placed it on the bar to make the point how disgusted we were with the meal. I also said to the bar staff that it was pointless complaining again as it just went from bad to worse I left with the recommendation that they should sack the chef!!!!!
My family and I came for Christmas dinner. Everything was perfect. Food, drink, staff and atmosphere. Just lovely.
The atmosphere was very welcoming from the moment we walked in, the bar staff engaged with my child so she felt really included. We ordered food and drinks, the food was really nice especially the crispy chilli beef small plate! Brill value for money I will definitely visit again.
Firstly what a dreadful start to the Christmas holidays I booked October 26th to make sure myself, my 2 daughters and 2 granddaughters could have a nice evening out I booked the 20th as it advertised carol singers we were not the only people expecting them several groups came in and the staff looked at them and us with blank expressions. After waiting 15 minutes we were shown to our table then had to queue up for another 15 minutes to order drinks. For the starters the kids garlic bread were 4 crusts each with a red water like dip. Despite paying a supplement for 2 steak fondue there was no cranberry or dressed salad but at this point we were just starving the youngest in tears. The carvery was all dried up and it was impossible to even cut through the Yorkshire puddings they were like bricks. The person serving the carvery insisted we ordered pigs in blankets even though I said I didn't then carried 3 pale stringy sausage over and left them on the table when we said we didn't want them. Followed 30 minutes later by 4 deserts. What is the point of pre ordering? Having paid a £21 deposit the bill was £49.95 remaining plus our drinks 8 soft drinks. However we were charged for 4 unwanted and uneaten pigs in blankets, a desert that was not even ordered. When we queried this with the only 2 staff members were useless and after 45 minutes with 2 very tired and fed up children he finally gave us £11 and some change but would not return the receipt to me. Awful experience.
