Too bad we didn't go earlier when the pizza was amazing. The staff was friendly and... the restaurant has a nice relaxed feeling about it. We will certainly return.
I visited La Trattoria in early September with my husband, 11 months old daughter and law. We were traveling to an apartment in Montemboeuf and decided to stop in the beautiful city of Saint Junien for lunch. Not many places were open, so... we turned to a trusted Trip Advisor and my husband found La Trattoria. After a little walk the streets my father found in the law, and we were glad to see that it was open as we were all very hungry! When entering we were greeted by a friendly French couple (I guess they were the owners) and shown at a table on the window. It was a very hot day and unfortunately there was no air conditioning on! We received menus in French and English and ordered drinks. I just chose an Orangina that was beautiful and refreshing. We ordered a bottle of Vittel water to fill the bottle of our daughter who had a date May 2017 on it. We were not sure if it was a use, so my husband asked to change it. The waitress was really nice and gave us another brand. The menu is very large in La Trattoria and offers 29 different pizzas! Originally I ordered a 'Gorgonzola' (tomato, potato, gorgonzola, cream, grated cheese) but unfortunately the waitress came back to tell me they had no gorgonzola. I had another look at the menu and decided to have '3 Fromages ' (tomato, goat cheese, reblochon cheese, cream, grated cheese) and they asked me if I wanted potato on it! It was delicious. It wasn't long in the oven, but to be honest as I like my pizzas! I loved potato as a Zupferd not something you usually see. My husband ordered 'Vesuvio ' (tomato, ham, chorizo, paprika, onion, grated cheese) He thought it was really good. My laws shared a 'Briola' (tomatoes, ham, mushrooms, chorizo, egg, grated cheese) Both really enjoyed their pizza. Overall, I'm really glad we found La Trattoria. It is not a chic restaurant they have paper advertising placemats and the TV on (which shows music videos the day we visited in a relatively low volume), but they know how to cook a large pizza! Our pizzas were huge, hot and quickly delivered to our table. The staff was friendly and helpful and the restaurant was really clean. Recommended.
After a walk around Saint Junien, stumbled over this great pizzeria. Great food and friendly staff! Will definitely be revisit when the next one in the area! Merci Beaucoup!
Quite a small selection of pizzas and additional toppings. The crust and the wood burning stove make excellent tasting pizzas, but the lack of toppings was disappointing. We will be going back though, as it is great value for money and the pizzas are good.
I like wood burning pizza but I don't like burnt pizza! I was disappointed with the crust because it was too charred to truly enjoy. The flavour of the pizza, however was still tasty. I suggest avoiding potatoes as a topping because they are not...fresh potatoes, but rather store-bought ones you'd serve at breakfast time.
