Port Gogane - Rochefort-sur-Loire

So So good we went for lunch then dinner (yes, in the same day) LOL as the dinner place we had a reservation for (more on that later) was a HUGE let down. We enjoyed a well prepared falafel with freshly made tzatziki and yummy potatoes for lunch, and the special of the day a seafood coconut curry, then 6 hours later shared the Angus steak special of the day and a nice bottle of wine. The young female server was OUTSTANDING (from Marseille), just 20 years old and already “killing it”, with her friendly smile and outstanding attention to detail. Put this on your list of “must go to restaurants”, it’s super casual and the food is top notch

Whilst on a short stay in the area for a wedding, we arranged to meet with some of our friends for dinner here. We chose this restaurant based on some much older reviews relating to its location by the riverside, and also by the promise of local produce and some live music. We were not disappointed! Thankfully we reserved a table in advance as the restaurant filled up quickly. The menu comprised a simple selection of local produce, prepared simply but to ensure the integrity of the ingredients. A home grown tomato salad with fresh mozzarella and a pesto dressing delicious. Three of us then chose the 'piece de boeuf ' whilst I had the fish and asked for the rice to be changed for frites. No ordinary frites, but hand sliced fried potato slices. Again, delicious. There really wasn 't room for dessert but we went for it anyway, opting for ice=cream. The band played well and long into the evening, it was a great mix of Afro beat/jazz/Carib reggae/funk, great to listen to and entertained us very well I stood up to dance because, well, why not?! We would recommend you book a table in advance if you are large group, or go early and make a night of it.

Good place to pause and eat a piece. nice and dynamic servers.

A salad of 16€ must review your prices. I took a skewer and instead of taking fries I asked for a mixed fried salad that I was answered on supplement. Not too commercialized the waitress.
