Cafe De La Paix - Rochefort

Best value is happy hour every day from 6-7.30 when a pint is £3.Used this as our local during our 2 week stay. Typical French service I.e. Not v quick by our standards but v friendly and le patron loves his beer.Not cheap but a huge array of bottled beers plus 3-4 decent options en pression.

....... after a twenty minute wait for two beers!! We arrived at 21:00 for a quick snack and left at 22:45. The food (when it arrived) was fine but we needed to find our own cruet. We also calculated our own bill and handed the cash over as we left. The young waiter and waitress seemed overwhelmed and under trained. We agree with many French reviewers regulars seemed to get quite prompt service. Where was the manager? WHO was the manager? IS THERE A MANAGER? Our advice? Don't waste time wondering just don't go there, unless you're studying sociology.

Classy looking place just off the main square, very clean. Good choice of food and excellent service.

My wife and I had lunch here on a day trip to Rochefort. We had different meals and both were very poor. Both meals had way too much bread and some sort of dressing all over both meals. Very disappointed.

First meal in Rocheford stumbled across this square by accident. So was pleased to find the restaurant. Meal choice as very good, dish of the day excellent value at €14 ,3 nice courses. Main menu seemed all good value.
