We came 10 minutes after our reservation because of traffic, but we almost sat immediately even tho they were very busy. We both had the salad bar (which I thought was a great idea for when it is busy, you can enjoy on traditional green leaves / Macaroni salads and breads to snack) and enjoy it. Then we ordered chicken parmigiana and Carbonara both with homemade pasta. The chicken parmigiana was cooked for perfection! By far my favorite in the Rochester area and even better than the old Mario location. Can't wait to go back and we're very glad they finally opened Mario's!
A must in the Rochester region. With a nice brunch on the weekend. Located directly on Irondequoit Bay, this restaurant offers an outdoor seating area. The outdoor area is enclosed during the spring and autumn season and is heated. I also recommend the pasta here. There is also an ice cream shop in the building so that the children have something to look forward to after a good meal.
The overall experience was incredibly enjoyed our server Bethany! She's WONDERFUL. The atmosphere is great, cozy restaurant, but not too elegant. I ordered the Calamari, who was DELICIOUS, with a good amount of food for the price. My husband ordered the chicken alfredo broccoli plate he said was a 3 out of 5. Most often because the taste was moderate, slightly seasoned grilled chicken mixed with a generic Alfredo sauce. I ordered her NY stripe, well cooked and tasted pretty good. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the amazing service of Bethany who coughed all night, but still attentive to her tables! She was great.
Very good food and atmosphere. A little strange that bread is not included for the table and only with the additional affordable salad bar. Gnocchi with meat sauce was great. Salad bar had simple but good choice. Breadsticks were a bit dry and bland, but the herbal rolls were fresh and delicious.
All the pasta is homemade and pretty good. They have a nice salad, soup, and bread bar. The service was excellent and definitely worth the visit.
