We actually recommended to try this place from someone we talked to in another Vietnamese restaurant in Syracuse. He said this was his place when he was in the area, so we had to try it out. The food was good and the service was good. Some people here have complained that the service is not friendly, but I think it is just a cultural difference and the people who lead this facility are not Americans born so when they talk to you, it can come as rude or impatient, but this is just how they talk, don't take it personally. We didn't feel like that when we talked to the owner. Well, the atmosphere at boarding was good, but when we sat at our tables, we noticed that the walls were not cleaned long and there were soup splashes and dried noodles hanging on the wall. It was pretty bad and I didn't make a picture, but it made me a little nervous to taste the food haha. My wife and I shared the fresh spring rolls and each of us got a bowl of Pho. At the beginning, spring rolls were probably the best roles we had on our journey. The peanut sauce served with it was delicious and was not too thick or sweet. The presentation for them was how to be served with the shrimps through the rice paper. It could have been a bit more cut pork in them, but overall they were well dimensioned and sold at a fair price. Now for the Pho. I can understand why the gentleman at the Vietnamese Noodle House recommended us here because the Pho was amazing! Even better than the Pho-Platz we just checked! Much more meat, tasteful and mostly clear broth with beautiful deep beef flavor, seasoned well and hardly sweet. Most places do not add pepper to their soups, but they did that here and I really liked the taste of him in the soup. The price is a bit high for what you can normally get Pho for, but the quality and taste paid. We both finished our bowls and had full stomach to the end and remained satisfied. In summary, if it had not been for dirty walls and slightly deorganized atmosphere, this would be a five star place for what it is, but it seems that they still have some things to work. It was a good recommendation for the Pho and we also recommend this place if you are looking for a good Pho in the Rochester region. I had the best Pho in Rochester except for my own. Papaya Salat was great, chicken wings fritted perfect, and railway mi tasted like it should. My husband also cost the rice plate with pork chop. No complaints here
Excellent Phobrühe. Good service. The owner is not one to chat, but I didn't think he was rude or as I read in reviews. He took our order efficiently, filled our water and got everything right for our group of 9. Great place!
Great food a problem. The yellow bottle that has the Hoisin sauce is watered down. Why is that? Hoisin is great for Pho, but watered down sauce is not good.
