Rather Unique - Rochester

I have not had the pleasure of eating here yet. But not for lack of trying. I am a long time resident of Henrietta/Brighton and for several years when I get a taste for soul food I usually have to drive all the way to the city to Tangies or S&T?s to getit. So imagine my surprise and excitement when I googled ?soul food restaurants near me? and discovered there was a soul foodrestaurant within 3 miles of my address. Needless to say I immediately went to their website to look at the menu. Each menuitem got me more and more excited. With choices like whole chicken wings, collard greens Mac and cheese etc. and turkey ribs! Ihad never heard of turkey ribs, but was eager to try them. So last Sunday was my first attempt. The website said they were openfrom 12 noon to 6:00. I drove over to the restaurant and arrived around 4:30 and they were not open. I tried again lastTuesday. I tried again today. Arrived at 12:45 as they were supposed to be open at 12:00 noon. Closed again. This is verydisappointing and NOT a good way to run a business. And if this is typical business practice, this place won?t last.

Best location: Off the beating path in a peaceful location.Service: Warm just like Soul is suppose to be.Food: Chef Hands exceptional cooking you wont think of saying you are still hungry.Comments: Rather Unique is a great place for Soul Food especially for those traveling into Rochester by way of plane, train or automobile. There is plenty of parking the area is quiet and the food is great.Funny thing is I wanted ribs but I am on the fences about pork at the moment however Rather Unique had Turkey ribs! A good sign to say the least. The ribs were good without sauce but they did have sauces available which also were tasty but the ribs were so good without the sauce that I barely used them. FIVE STARS.

Really great take out soul food! Those turkey ribs are delicious.

Excellent soul food. I highly recommend the turkey ribs and the sides were really good. I will be coming back!
