However, there was an hour wait, in which we asked to order from the chalkboard inviting us to order an appetizer while we waited. Hostess said we couldn't. When we pointed out the sign, she went to ask if it was okay. This is where I warn you that advertised prices do not match what you will be charged. Also, the online menu doesn't match the menu in the store. We were looking forward to ordering the pecan pie, but it wasn't available. Our server was pleasant and friendly; another reason for more than 2 stars. The Bavette Au Poivre is definitely not worth the price. Toughest beef I've ever tackled. Sauce was lumpy like it had been warmed up from cold. No Bleu cheese in the potatoes. Warm bread was delicious, though. Would like to give it another try, we'll see! Staying in the area while one of us is having follow-up care at Mayo split across two weeks. The scallop saffron special was spectacular and my friend never finishes her plate, but she did that one. I had the butternut squash and it was equally superb. Cocktails were done perfectly and being later on a Sat night the bartender handled both our food and cocktails. We very much appreciated him working with us, answering our questions and assisting us with navigating a few food restrictions. We heard the musician Dayna, and enjoyed her talents along with her accompaniment for the time they had left. All in all, excellent atmosphere, food, and cocktails. Highly recommend!! Terrific food, very creative. We shared stuffed risotto balls as appetizer (fantastic! My husband had Sausage Pepper Rustica and I had the Scallop and saffron special— both dishes were delicious. Our server Nikki made us feel like family. Added delight: live music, which tremendously enhanced our dining experience. No pretentiousness here (simple neighborhood place — just excellent food and excellent service. YOU WILL LOVE IT! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
My husband and I celebrated our anniversary at The Redwood Room. We were well taken care of by our server Katherine. The music was well-done but we were directly in front of the speaker, so it was a bit too loud at times. My husband gave his delicious Shrimp Risotto Five Stars! My Thai Fusion pizza was fine but I found it to be too dry for my taste. I was expecting a lighter, crispier crust, but it was quite dense. The toppings were very flavorful but I prefer a saucier pizza. Next time I'll try something different! Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
