La Collina Italiano - Rochester Hills

We had an incredibly authentic Italian dining experience at La Colina Ristorante in Rochester, Michigan. We began our meal with the Burrata Caprese, which was bursting with flavor, though a bit on the small side. Next, we tried the Linguine Nere Allo Scoglio, a squid ink pasta that was simply amazing—rich in flavor and complemented perfectly by the seafood. The Strozzapretti Norcina was also delicious, featuring a tender lamb shank that practically fell off the bone; however, I think it could have used a touch more seasoning, but that's just my personal preference. We concluded our meal with the Tiramisu, which was delightful! Overall, I highly recommend visiting La Colina for an authentic Italian experience!

My wife and I unexpectedly discovered this hidden gem in Rochester Hills, and it truly offers the best Italian food in the area. The ambiance whisked us away to a charming café near Via Cavour in Rome. The food was outstanding, featuring fresh ingredients, authentic dishes, and imaginative presentations. The service was even better, with our waiter, Nick, being attentive, knowledgeable, and engaging. He struck the perfect balance, ensuring we were well taken care of while still allowing us to enjoy our intimate conversation. Although we had an early dinner, we were thrilled to catch the start of the live music. The vocalist filled the space with our favorite jazz standards at just the right volume, enhancing our dining experience without overwhelming us. We can't wait to return, and we plan to bring friends and family along. We’re spreading the word to everyone we know—La Collina is a must-visit spot in Rochester Hills!

The food was pricey but truly delicious. I particularly enjoyed the vegetable soup and risotto, while my husband loved the lamb chop. However, the service was somewhat slow.

La Collina is a true gem in the culinary scene. Their Italian menu offers a delightful variety, and while the wine list may be short, it's exceptionally curated. The staff is both knowledgeable and accommodating, enhancing the dining experience. The food preparations are outstanding, making it arguably the best Italian restaurant not only in Rochester but possibly in Oakland County and even the Greater Detroit area.

I had dinner there for the first time based on a friend's recommendation, and it was a wonderful experience. The service was excellent, and the food was outstanding. We tried the veal, octopus salad, and lamb chops, and all of them were fantastic. I highly recommend this place for anyone seeking authentic Italian dining.
