Shamrock Hotel - Rochester

Shamrock Hotel is the best hotel in Rochester, a beautiful building that has had the front façade recently refurbished. We found the prices were a little high for a country pub but the meals are well cooked and nicely presented. Definitely worth calling in.

Had lunch here on way to Echuca, we noticed the sign out front for $12 lunches , thought worth a try. I had fish and chips was very nice my husband had crumbed prawns . Could not complain for $12 better than some pub meals I have paid more for.

The hotel was quite busy when we arrived, never the less the service was very good. The menu had a good variety and the meals served were great. The calamari served as a starter was excellent as was the 'cheese' loaf.

Great staff, friendly atmosphere, great food, and well priced meals, try a cheap but yummy lunche or go for dinner either way you will love it.

Recently, after a forced stop in Rochester, ( due to car break down) we had a Sunday Dinner at the Shamrock. The meal was excellent and quite large and nicely served to us. Service was friendly and I gathered that many locals also ate there. Lovely old styled building that seem to have stood the test of time.Hopefully will return there when next in the area.
