The Frenchville Sports Club

Tried two lots of weekly specials for dinner recently - Parmi night and Pie & Pudding night. Both been average. Not particularly cheap for what you get - reasonable to good presentation, decent servings (P&P was buffet style), but quality & taste was lacking. Staff were friendly & accommodating. Club itself is clean, safe & good sized venue. Live music on weekends can be loud but there are places to escape within the club so as to not have it in your ear. Lots of member draws. Would recommend trying off the menu rather than the specials - or eat elsewhere & go there after for the entertainment.

The improvements to the club are very good very appealing, unfortunately they could not back up with the meals. Crumbed Fish was encased not crumbed, chicken parmy needed a chainsaw.

I visited the Frenchville Sports Club whilst in Rockhampton to catch a game of footy. Its a fairly big club in the suburbs, drinks were a little expensive for a sports club. They had lots of pokies and a nice sports bar a huge eating area, i did not eat but looked at the menu which was reasonably priced. The staff were really great too. Good place to go and relax if you want a low key friday, saturday night.

Meal was great i had the crumbed steak, bit hard to go wrong with that. Everyone else at the table were happy with their meals. Only let down was they serve enormous portions and when asked for a takeaway container they refused as said it was against food safety. No other place in rockhampton does this. Bit disappointing.

We stopped in at Frenchville and decided to have a meal. Ordered 4 different meals. Pork Belly - was swimming in water with a fatty slop of honey taste. Crispy noodles were soggy because of the slime. Red emperor - over cooked and vegies cold. Garlic prawns spaghetti - prawns were defrosted bullets that you would use in fried rice. The spaghetti was cut into small strips that you would do for a child. Chicken Party was over cooked and very chewy. So disappointed won't be back.
