Pattan's Downtown Grille - Rockingham

While it's not the best BBQ I've ever had—especially when compared to what you find in Austin, Texas—it's still quite good overall. I ordered the pulled pork since they were out of brisket, and it was really tasty. My only disappointment was my wife's salad, which was just iceberg lettuce with very few other vegetables. They do offer a gluten-free menu, but I'm not sure if the kitchen is set up to accommodate those orders. I also think providing wet wipes for BBQ would be a nice touch, as things can get a bit messy. On the plus side, I was pleasantly surprised by the craft beer prices; a large one was under $5. If you get the chance, sitting outside on a nice evening is lovely. It would be great if they had umbrellas with built-in LED lights to help with visibility. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting for some very good BBQ.

I dined here for the first time and found the shrimp to be a bit too salty, but it had a nice crunch. Overall, the other dishes we ordered were quite tasty. The server was very pleasant and friendly, which added to the experience. I also appreciated the simple yet lovely decor, especially the large window view.

The food was excellent. We don 't have a large appetite, so the Not just for Kids menu portion was perfect. Sharon was a delight in her extra-service and suggestions. We might even travel the 50 min to go back! Brisket was absolutely fantastic. So soft it melted in your mouth and could be cut with a fork. Their sauce are awesome too! Fabulous food and a great dining area with outdoor patio when it's nice out and open. Closed when I was here, but they were on the slower side and closing within the hour.
