I also returned once for my father-in-law's farewell party at his request. They have moved the darker-skinned statues upstairs to keep them out of direct view, while leaving the white-skinned statues downstairs. Unfortunately, their delivery service is consistently disappointing, with long wait times and unhelpful responses to inquiries. The food has been decent in the past, but the presence of racist statues is both distracting and offensive. It's not worth supporting a restaurant that perpetuates such stereotypes in today's society.
Tonight, my mother, sister, and I visited this restaurant. It wasn't very busy when we arrived, and the decor was quite nice with clean tables. We were greeted warmly and placed our order shortly after. We ordered three butter chickens, three saffron rice, one serving of garlic naan, one serving of cheese naan, one serving of pappadums, one cucumber raita, English tea, sparkling apple juice, and a Carlton Dry beer. Our total bill came to $116. The food arrived quickly and was delicious. The portion sizes were generous, exceeding my expectations. I particularly enjoyed the saffron rice and cucumber raita. The pappadums, garlic naan, and cheese naan were also very tasty. The staff were friendly, and overall, we had a great experience. I would definitely return and recommend this restaurant to my friends.
Chutney Mary's in Rockingham may just be even better than the amazing main restaurant in Subiaco. I have visited the Subi location many times, so when my friends suggested Indian food after a boating trip in Rockingham, I eagerly agreed. The food at Chutney Mary's tastes just as delicious as the dishes from the Subiaco location, and the staff even offered to make off-menu items like Shahi Paneer for us. While the Rockingham restaurant is popular and can be a bit chaotic and crowded like the Subiaco location, I appreciated the more organized layout and better air conditioning. Overall, if you see the sign for Chutney Mary's, you can't go wrong with dining there.
Really excellent Indian food. They really try to be gluten free and have a lot of options, but when it comes to more than one allergy you get stuck. Still worth a visit!
Although a little on the expensive side, you definitely get what you pay for here, the food is amazing! Beautiful, fresh authentic Indian dishes with excellent service
