The nachos were soggy and dry at the same time, and the pizza was also overcooked and dry with a bad base. When I gave honest feedback to the lady at the counter, she explained that they can't take the pizza out of the oven early or it won't be cooked properly. The staff and service were okay and friendly, which is why I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1.
This is the second time we have visited the Groove Train, and it will definitely be our last. During our first visit, my pizza was good but my wife's mixed grill was served cold. This time, I had the worst fish and chips I have ever had in my 50 years of life. The batter was soggy, the dish was tasteless, and one of the fish pieces was mostly batter. My wife's calamari salad consisted of chewy calamari, shredded cabbage, four strands of carrot, and half a dozen onion slices. Our son's side salad was wilted and had black parts. If I were in the catering industry and took pride in my work, I would never have served such poor quality food. I am giving one star only because the children's ice cream was cold.
I went to the restaurant last night for my birthday and I was extremely disappointed. I spent over $370 on the meal, but the steak was full of gristle and fat, not cooked properly, and took forever to come out. They also got our order wrong. The fish and chips were overcooked and dry. We had to change tables because of a flickering light due to my partner's epilepsy, but they initially said the tables were fully booked even though the restaurant was empty. The staff were friendly, but the food was disappointing. My friend's Asian seafood curry was lukewarm because the meals were not served until most were ready. My son had to wait 20 minutes for his meal after everyone else had been served. The female toilet was dirty and had no toilet paper. The restaurant used to be good a few years ago, but now under new management, this is the third disappointing experience and we will not be returning. It's no wonder the place was empty on a Sunday night.
Been talking about going for a while, and never did,so glad we ended up going. Lady who greeted us was lovely, and took our order rather fast. I noticed she was doing everything herself, greeting, taking orders, cooking, taking payment, and clearing table's. I thought this could be interesting, and a long wait, how wrong I was. Our order was taken in good time, drink's were there minutes later, and our food wasn't far behind. Food was good, no complaints at all. We will definitely be returning.
What a shocker of a place to dine! Not enough staff, food was almost INEDIBLE! Over priced for very bland and unseasoned food. Booked for a table of 6 on a Friday night and we waited well over an hour for our below average meals and weren’t told about the wait times. In that time we saw several tables get up and leave…. We should of done the same thing! Avoid at all costs, would not recommend to anyone!
