During my visit to the area, I stopped for a quick lunch and stumbled upon this lovely organic store with a cafe. I tried the tropical açai bowl, a fantastic suggestion from Rene. She provided excellent customer service, quickly delivered my meal, and was very attentive. The açai bowl was absolutely delicious with a wonderful taste. The store also offers a variety of products such as water bottles, plants, and other organic items.
My friend brought me to this restaurant and I have to admit, it looked pretty good. However, that initial impression was quickly overshadowed by the high prices. We ordered two flat whites and two slices of cake, which were both tasty but the bill came to a whopping $24.60. Are you kidding me? Despite the lively atmosphere and trendy crowd, the supposed organic experience left me feeling underwhelmed. All I can say is WOW!
I've been to the Evolve Organics Cafe twice. Both times the staff were friendly, but I waited a long time to get my food. The first time I went, I ordered a simple Acai bowl when only a few were fed in the café. For... something that just needs to be decorated with fruit and cereals, waiting was too long. The second time I ordered something from the Takeaway/Pre-made window. This was a spinach and cheese samosa and side salad. All that had to be done was to heat the Samosa and place the food. The waiting time was at least 20 minutes. I think that would be unacceptable to anyone considering how little effort and time it takes to prepare this. I waited and watched how others who had ordered me had their prefabricated cakes and coffees before me. Thank God for an unnecessary waiting, the food was really good. Wide range of salads, vegan, gluten-free and vegetarian options. So this is a plus for me! Although, when my friend got his dish, he felt quite sick to eat the smoked salmon. Apart from that, he enjoyed the rest of his plate. I would like to say that I would go back because of the wide range of options for the health-conscious, but the slow service seems to be a pattern as it was over 6 months between each visit. Maybe for the third time, luck?
I recently attended a cooking presentation at Evolve Organics Cafe at Rocklea. In the past, I 've not been all that enamoured of organic/paleo/everything-free treats as they so often just seem to lack something. Paleo caramel slice just doesn 't taste like 'normal ' caramel slice no matter...how hard I try to pretend it does. However, I was just blown away by the delicious treats the wonderful ladies at the Cafe made that night. Absolutely fabulous. Do yourself a favour and try them.
