The coq au vin was excellent. The sides were extra but large enough to share for the table. The soufflé was worth waiting for! Highly recommended.
It was a couples night out. Good service and attentive owner. Kitchen needs improvement. Mushroom napoleon was some mushrooms and asparagus on plate with a piece of pastry puff..ugh. The duck entree was rubbery and somewhat tasteless.. disappointed. The escargot appetizer was excellent. Not running back to eat there again.
Madelines Petit Paris used to be an excellent restaurant for our family gatherings but the hostess for the last two years has been consistently rude, the food has been inconsistent and the little amenities have gone with Madeline and Gaspard. On our most recent visit on a Saturday night we found that both the duck l’orange and rack of lamb were unavailable, traditional staples of their menu. The beef bourginon was dry and salty. The chocolate soufflé continues to be excellent but it’s hardly worth waiting for after a mediocre meal.
It was our anniversary this past weekend and my wife and I enjoyed a great meal at Madeleine Petit Paris. The restaurant offers a nice variety of French cuisine, has a full bar and outdoor dining. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful and during the course of dinner, the owner came to our table to greet us, thank us for dining at his restaurant and gave us a tour of his other dining rooms later in the evening. We began with the mussels and frites and the coquille st. jacques. Both were excellent. The mussels were steamed in white wine and herbs and the coquille was savory. We chose the duck in a grand marnier sauce and the shrimp and scallops over angel hair pasta. Both were very good and cooked perfectly. Before dinner we ordered a chocolate souffle for dessert. It was perfect for two to share and was light, fluffy and delicious. Madeleine Petit Paris was one of the best French restaurants we dined in and we will definitely return.
The service was efficient and friendly. the food was very good (coquille sw. jacque and duck). The prices are fair, but not cheap. The ambiance needs work....lower lighting, candles, some warmth befitting the food. The overall experience was diminished by the dress of some of the guests who looked like they had just stepped out of a truck stop on rte. 80. Sorry, folks.....it's Saturday night....wear a clean, collared shirt!!!
