Taqueria Roberto - Rocklin

I'm quite discerning when it comes to food because I know what I like. This restaurant is truly fantastic and ranks among my top picks for Mexican cuisine. The Chile Rellenos are outstanding, and the Enchiladas are loaded with cheese and absolutely delicious. Honestly, you can’t make a bad choice here; the food is incredible. Give it a try!

The restaurant is clean and well-lit, and the staff is friendly and attractive. The salsa bar was well-maintained, and the pico de gallo was very fresh. The Jamaican ham was flavorful and not watered down like at some other places. My spouse ordered chorizo and eggs, which arrived in just 7 minutes. She enjoyed it, although she found the refried beans a bit too watery. I ordered the "7 mares," but requested the shells to be removed. It took longer for my dish to arrive, about 25 minutes. I suppose making this soup takes time to get it right. Overall, it was quite tasty, but I noticed the broth was a bit oily and thick. The flavors were good and not overly spicy. There were three different kinds of shrimp, which I found interesting, but I prefer my shrimp peeled and deveined. The octopus was thick and chewy; I’m not sure if it's possible to make it tender without making customers wait even longer. Squid would be a better alternative, as its body and tentacles are thinner and become more tender. To improve the soup, I would suggest using Dungeness crab instead of the small, thin-legged crab that was difficult to work with. The "7 mares" cost $19. I enjoyed the dish overall, but I might not order it again unless they make the suggested changes. However, I will definitely return to this restaurant to sample their other menu items.

This was our first visit, and we were very impressed. The restaurant was clean and well-kept, with excellent customer service. The menu had a fantastic selection, and we were thrilled to find Menudo on offer! The Menudo was delicious, and the owner was friendly and attentive. We will definitely be returning!

Anyway, my business won. Super friendly staff and good food. I went with the chili relleno burrito and was super happy with him (thanks to the previous review). The Burrito was delicious, chips and salsa were great, and the prices are exactly where they should be. Will surely return!
