Golden Samovar - Rockville

We were disappointed by the lack of flavor in the dishes. We have had much more flavorful Russian food in the past.

The menu sounded promising, but we were let down by the food. I ordered a large plate of rice (the waiter acknowledged that no one had ever finished it) with a few blandly seasoned pieces of meat. My friend had the flavorful sausages, but she found the accompanying potatoes to be quite disappointing. It's a shame because there were so many other dishes on the menu that we would have liked to try on future visits.

We arrived at the restaurant early, so we were the only ones there. The smoked fish plate was delightful, as was the bread. The chicken Tabbouleh was also delicious, and the selection of vodka on the menu was impressive.

GS will quickly get our way to local favorites! The quality of the dishes is always excellent! The staff is very accommodating. We will continue to enjoy until we return the way down the entire menu!

We went for Mother's Day. We waited 30 minutes until anybody came to take our order. The food takes very long too. Even though the restaurant was not full, there were not enough waiters. The lack of waiters should not be our problem though. After 30 minutes wait, my daughter went to complain. After 15 minutes we got our drinks. My mom is in a wheel chair, so we did decide to stay.
