I had the chance to taste their clam chowder, hush puppies, blackened ahi salad, and the wicked chicken pasta (my daughter's). I do not like hush puppies that are just little puffy donuts. These were hot, crunchy, and full bodied with just the right balance of sweet and savory. The clam chowder was very flavorful without being too salty. It had lots of clam meat! My salad was delightful. It was packed with lots of different flavors and textures. Sweet pineapple, crunchy tortilla strips, spicy pickled ginger, romaine lettuce and napa cabbage, peppery blackened tuna all in a delicious citrusy vinaigrette. I only tasted my daughter's pasta, but it was very good. Rich, flavorful, and spicy (but not too spicy). A generous portion that we took home. So it may also be a tasty breakfast tomorrow. And beyond the food... Service was attentive and informative. The decor and atmosphere is very nice as well. I'd like to come back for happy hour and try some oysters or calamari.
Free parking surrounding the building. Takes cash and credit card. Please note that the happy hour (3pm to close) is only valid at the bar. If you plan to eat the dining area, it ends at 7pm. Very strange policy as the restaurant can gain more sales at the dining area. We came here during our anniversary and there were plenty of tables here. We were promptly seated and ordered a few items. We ordered their dozen oysters which cost about $2 per oyster. The happy hour has them for $1.50 per oyster. The oysters were very fresh and tasted very good. Definitely recommend this for anyone visiting this restaurant. I wished the staff here would have provided clarification to sit at the bar to get the happy hour special. However, the way the staff explained it, it appeared that it's only valid until 7pm in totality. This really confused us as we felt like there was confusion on pricing. However, for clarification, happy hour past 7pm is at the bar, not dining area. We continued and ordered their seafood ciopinno which consists of fish, shrimp and mussels in a tomato sauce. Please note that it comes with orzo pasta which was not mentioned on the menu. We also ordered their dinner special which was the 13oz steak with crab meat on top with sides of spinach and mash potatoes. It was kinda pricey as it was $36. The steak was pretty good and the crab meat tasted fresh. Fresh oysters were the start of the meal. The seafood ciopinno was decent. Sorta pricey for the amount of food. The staff here were friendly. However, I wished they were more attentive as we did not get any refills of our water. They came by our table about 2-3 times throughout our meal. For two people, our total was around $83 after tax. Kinda pricey especially given the area. You would expect to pay prices like this in the Bay Area.
Stopped here on the way home from a Sunday ballgame. Came upon this located in a large shopping center type Main Street area with a variety of shoppes, food places, etc. What I liked upon entry was the white/navy blue decor with stained wood, RWB accents, and just an overall clean feel to the place. There is a small bar area, and even though the place isn 't necessarily large, there is a small private room and plenty of seating. We sat down at 5:37pm by a hostess, and ordered water. I went to the bathroom to handle an irrigation issue, and upon my return still no waiter. Ten minutes went by still nothing. At 13minutes I became heavily agitated and caught the eye of a waiter who realized we were in his area, and he hadn 't addressed us yet. We got the excuse out of the way and order appetizers with me adding a mixed drink black cherry bourbon. Hey now. For the appetizers we got hush puppies and lobster/spinach queso. The hush puppies were very good and came with honey butter (never had butter on them before) The batter was good and had a homemade esque feel to them, but i would put them on the level of LJS pups. The queso was somewhat challenging to me lobster was well represented, but was kind of oily where the queso met the ceramic cup edge. For the meal I went with the special: a steak n ' cake which I was told was a steak with crab cake on top. Instead it was a steak slices accompanying a crab cake on top of mashed potatoes. Odd. The steak was perfectly medium as ordered, the mashed potatoes were very good whipped with the purple skins, green beans were flavored right and the crab cake, although small, was as advertised with little filler. Not sure what the white sauce was but I enjoyed all the items in conjunction. Sharing a key lime pie, I added a coffee and we headed out. The homemade whipped cream on top of the pie was good but it was more like a lime custard pie to me. Nothing wrong with that. I liked the food a lot the waiter was good once he realized we were there, and for only that reason I have this as a 4. Very good. Highly recommended.
We came here for dinner on Saturday, 2/1/20 at 7:30 pm. It was our first visit, and we didn't have reservations. Although it was a rainy day, the place was full. The host was very friendly and was able to find us a table in the back room where a large group just finished dinner. We practically had this room to ourselves. Our server was friendly and attentive. She came to our table to take our order within minutes and answered our questions. She checked on us periodically and got drink refills. We got calamari for an appetizer. Our entrees were Norfolk Medley (scallops, shrimp, and crabmeat combo) and Crab Cake (5 ounces with no filler). Each entree came with 2 sides. The entrees were served within 15 minutes. The only problem was the crab cake. My husband said there was not much lump meat in the crab cake, but more like claw meat. This is based on comparison of crab cakes we tried at other local seafood restaurants such as Timbuktu's and EJ's Provision Company.
We enjoyed a fantastic late lunch here on a Tuesday. The staff were attentive and polite. The staff dress casual. The atmosphere is somewhat upscale, less the table cloths. We started with raw oysters. They were very fresh and of decent size. For our main dishes we went with the crabcake salad and the lobster roll. Everything was very fresh looking and well presented. The crabcake was well seasoned and prepared. The dressing was flavorful and complimented the dish well. I enjoyed the lobster but would order the crabcake next time.
