Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen - Rockville

I personally try to avoid this restaurant whenever possible. The service is good, but their chicken sandwiches are just outrageous. It's not just an occasional issue; it happens every single time I visit. The chicken is formed into thick, round patties that make for very bulky sandwiches. Trust me, it's definitely worth the extra 10-minute drive to go somewhere else.

I love Popeye's chicken but not this location. The staff is generally friendly and efficient. The problems are probably due to management decisions.The store closes at 10:00 but if you go after 7 or 8, it's hit or miss if they will have chicken ready. We have stood around waiting many times.The surly manager got into it with my husband once over something stupid. The kicker: they subbed chicken backs for thighs in my order last week. I ordered an 8 piece box and ended up with 4 backs*. I was too mad and tired to go back and argue.*I know for sure that those were chicken backs because I am an experienced cook. Also, it's hard to miss the spine and lack of meat on the bone.

I ordered the family special tonight for $32.00, but the manager never informed me about the weekly special for the same meal at $22.00, minus the extra piece I expected. I'm really disappointed with the customer service. I've decided I won’t be returning. This time, I asked to substitute one of the items for cookies, which I never ate. The young lady at the register told me she couldn't make any substitutions because it was a special family meal priced at $29.99. That didn’t make any sense to me. I've always been able to swap out items for cookies before, and no one has ever challenged my request. Paying $29.00 is a hefty price for such poor customer service. I genuinely wanted to give them another chance, but unfortunately, they let me down again.

We have dined here several times, and the staff has always been helpful. They consistently have all the food ready on time.
