The Bannikin - Rocky Harbour

The fish batter was seasoned and tasted yummy! gravy was delicious too. loved the deep fried pickles. we also had the dressing which was great! we really enjoyed the meal and the portions are big so you can share.

Haven't been checking the internet so only found this food truck by accident. What a nice surprise! I had the fish and chips. Fish was a large crispy fillet lightly breaded and seasoned well. Fries were tasty and fresh, not the months old frozen fries you see so much in this area. I'm not usually a tartar sauce person but theirs is homemade and delicious. Can't get a better view of the Harbor than sitting here at the picnic tables looking out to sea.

Perfect place to take away! original food truck! The fish years chips is excellent and very good serving. Good price!

We love Poutine and when traveling in Canada this is high on our list of things to do. If you are not Canadian and have not experience poutine you are in for a treat: French fries, topped with gravy and cheese curd. Variations of this dish can be had. I have seen toppings with meat, bacon, other cheeses or fish. I however like the traditional Poutine served at The Bannikin: perfectly fresh crispy French fries that hold up to the simply prepared beef gravy and salty tender cheese curd that stretches when pulled apart. Their fries did not become mushy within minutes of preparation and remained crispy as we walked to the bay- side picnic table to enjoy or lunch.Oh I almost forgot to include the fish sandwich, my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Lightly fried, slightly breaded cod on a brioche like roll. One of the best I had.If you like Poutine or the idea of Poutine visit this food truck in Rocky Harbour.

We ate at this food truck located on the main drag in Rocky Harbour. We had a fish burger and a hamburger, both of which were delicious. The best part was to be able to eat them at a picnic table directly by the bay. We regretted eating there only once. Wish we had a chance to eat there again.
