The Glencoe is a private members club that has wonderful meal service in several venues. The food is of high quality and the service is pleasant. Meals can be as casual as a bite after some sports or a formal dinner. The downtown club is complemented with a second golf course location on Highway 8. The golf location also have meal service and a good range of quality food and beverage choices for the tired golfer (or guest) looking to unwind and relax.

The service in dining areas is quietly and supportively attentive, so one may concentrate on the delightful variations on familiar dishes such as Dungeness crab cakes, carrot salad, roasted chicken, seared tuna, all inventively spiced and accompanied by legacy fruits and vegetables or slices of different varieties of citrus. We have eaten there several times over the years, and never encountered an error in service or a boring dish. The club is in a stunning residential area and features athletic, social, and cultural activities from swimming pools to lecture rooms. Parking on site and across the street by beautiful homes is easy, the prices for lunch and dinner are reasonable for the quality of the offerings, the wine list is superb. And the location is incredible -- the club is nestled in a tree-shaded pocket of solitude and safety in a busy city. It is possible be back in the centre of the city in 5 or10 minutes to see a play or movie. This is that rare spot, an urban dining room in a vernal neighborhood, a club where power lunches are sheer delights and where Calgary's most powerful movers and shakers sit near the artists and athletes you'll recognize from magazines and tv. Before or after the meal, walk around Elboia and Mount Royal and your eyes will attest to Glencoe's rare combination of fairy tale setting and dining excellence.
