Although the grocery store remains open for business, the vegetarian restaurant has been closed due to the pandemic. I'm hoping they'll reopen in the near future.
This place is good for visit. spicy and delicious food
We love everything about Parivar and come here every week. The food is amazing and we love to see Noreen's smiling face--she and other staff are all super helpful!
My favorite dosas in Albany!! I've eaten here some 10+ times, and I've consistently been happy with the various dishes I've tried here! This is grocery store attached casual eatery towards the back of the store. The eatery portion is NOT open Mondays. The food is completely vegetarian, as is common in various types of indian cuisine. Food: I've tried various dosas, the gol guppa, paratha and samosa chat. The dosas are great- thin crispy crepes with the delicious condiments that accompany dosas. I prefer plain to the masala dosa because I don't enjoy getting so full on potatoes when it's really the crepe and condiments that I'm excited to eat. The potatoes are good though, all the same. I wouldn't say there is any difference between the butter dosa and the plain dosa, so save you're extra cents and just get the plain one. The spicy and methi parathas are both delicious and served with achar. It's absolute comfort food. Samosa chat is deliciously crisp and flavorful and a good ratio of wet and dry ingredients going for it. The gol guppas aren't spectacular, but are still good and get the craving satisfied, certainly! Also a bonus, they have great milk chai here, I believe it's only 1$ a cup! Location: Easy parking in the grocery store's parking lot off of Central Ave. Overall, I love coming here for a solid meal/good indian comfort food.
