Contribuisci feedbackFull disclosure: We offer Chef Craig with a variety of poultry (Poussin, Erbe chickens, Guinea fowl, and duck), so maybe my review is pre-stressed. So be it. We were invited to the peasant revaluation dinner at the beginning of November together with a handful of other local farmers, and I can say that was clearly the best food we ever had. Every dish that came around seemed like something that everyone could make reasonably competent cook at home - this is a good thing, not a distraction - but what it was apart that the execution of each component was perfect. To do that for a record is one thing, but it record to do after record is something different. The taste and texture combinations were perfect. I've never been so excited about braided beets, and the scalops were absolutely amazing. Ente confit, fried rabbit, carrot hummus, homemade crostini-none thereof could have been improved. Chef Craig demands the highest quality ingredients (if I can say it myself) and, as he says, his job is simply not to screw it up. But top-notch raw materials and great skill supplement some amazing food. And he clearly enjoys his work, which is in evidence on the plate. The ambience is surprisingly covered for a place serving dishes of this caliber. I think you'd be dressed in blue jeans and flannel like in a suit and tie. You could do much worse than drive to Harvest for food!
This is by far the only best culinary experience I had in the Springfield area. The only way to describe the food is masterful, the staff was friendly and helpful, and not in the least pretentious. This was a delightful experience!
By far the best restaurant and culinary experience in our surroundings. We are so blessed to have Chef Craig and his beautiful wife, Tamara, in southwest Missouri. As a foodie who travels well and dinates, I would put him up against almost every cook. Thank you for a place I'm dining and never disappointed. I don't care what you charge. I appreciate the quality, love and care you serve in every drop of food you serve.
Every aspect of our culinary experience was delightful. The food was delicious and fresh; despite the best food in the area. Service and wine were excellent. Thanks for a nice evening.
Hands down best restaurant in the area. Always an amazing experience when I am able to have dinner at Harvest. Between the friendly staff, welcoming owners, and to die for food, this is one of my favorite restaurants.
