I 'd seen it on lists but hadn 't actually been there, so when the opportunity struck, I took it.Much like the Branding Iron in Preston, the view from the main dining room window is worth the visit. They 've survived pandemic and lockdown with a pared-down menu, though when I went there there was some talk of returning to a full buffet for Friday night fish fry.Like many other places the 'fish fry ' included non-fish options.. in this case, fried chicken or shrimp. The soup was definitely made on site, and I always enjoy being able to detect that. The chicken reminded me of Elba House at its peak.. locally sourced, not gargantuan but flavorful. The fish (cod, since we 're talking fish fry) was batter-fried and the usual flaky perfection you get from people who 've done fish fry every Friday for years.I hesitated to write this because I know we 're only just emerging from lockdown survival mode, so my experience was a snapshot from that mode.I 'm looking forward to going back in a few weeks to get a steak (or prime rib buffet on a Saturday) and a better feel for the place.
Delicious food, great service and healthy atmospere
We went for Easter brunch was great very good service and will go back for fish fry ginny is a darling
Buffet always filled with the best of foods that the crowd desired...Bravo!
Terrible terrible. Bar tender “owner” couldn’t pour a shot of Whiskey without help. The. Proceeded to tip herself $7 plus my tab without her telling me or permission after I found out and refused to give me the money back. Never coming there again. Do not recommend food. Nothing has changed sense 1950 in that’s place. Everything’s old and out of date. Terrrible! Not even 1 star outta 5.
