Chiringuito Chavez - Roquetas de Mar

Stopped here for breakfast. The food itself wasn’t bad when it arrived. The service was quite extraordinary. The very unhappy waitress stomped around avoiding eye contact, very plainly not wanting to be there.

A perfect spot just off the beach, a nice selection of foods, staff were extremely friendly and food was extremely enjoyable. Very cosmopolitan suiting all tastes.

We visited Roquetas de Mar at the end of August 2023. This restaurant was the closest to our hotel and we tried going twice. First, we went at 17h and they told us the kitchen was closed. Second time, we went at 14h and, although the occupancy rate was something like 10% at the time we arrived, they straight away told us they were fully booked and did not even ask if we wanted to eat or drink and/or propose and alternative, like staying outside or coming later. It took me a while to understand that this is plain racism in 2023. I was with my African husband and mixed race 1 year old baby and, I am sorry to say, but from these 2 attempts and the way we were treated, this is racism pure and simple. During our 1 week stay, we tried a total of 5 or 6 restaurants and we were never treated like this. I do not recommend this place for foreigners and especially for black people. It’s a shame if his happens in 2023.

Estuvimos 4 adultos y la verdad es que volveremos porque la experiencia fué muy buena, la comida estaba espectacular, recomiendo el pulpo, las almejas a la marinera y la carrillada. La comida es de calidad y acorde al precio. La atención fué de 10, El camarero que nos atendió muy agradable Sergio creo que se llama y el dueño también nos atendió bastante bien, fueron muy cercanos y se esforzaban por ser rápidos. Después de la comida nos tomamos unas copas porque el ambiente lo merecía. Recomiendo 100%.

La comida muy buena, el personal muy agradables y atentos, el lugar, frente al mar, todo expectacular
