We had a wonderful day today. We visited several years ago and we are impressed with the new look. The house tour was excellent. The famine museum grounded me. Unbelievable and tragic part of our history .
Very sad and such a human tragedy. Just go to show you that no matter where you live or when you live the wealthy almost always exploits the poor less fortunate.
My husband and I visited the famine museum and really enjoyed the experience. The new museum is presented in a way which makes the story very interesting. There is a lovely café and a small shop. There is a car park. Highly recommended.
The museum is fantastic, and the house tour was delightful, thanks to a very knowledgeable and informative guide. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to explore the grounds, which was a shame. It's worth noting that the upper floors are not wheelchair accessible, but this is understandable given the historical structure of the house. The café is excellent, with wonderful and accommodating staff. I enjoyed a great soup and toasted sandwiches.
