I have been wanting a croissant sandwich and they did have that so I was pretty happy about that! It was good. I thought service was a little slow though. I guess it wasn't too bad, seemed to be during the Sunday rush, but it didn't impress me. I did get my croissant though!
Kinda reminds me of Perkins but nicer seating. Byerly's Grille offers typical American breakfast, lunch and dinner options and just enough variety on the menu so it's not completely boring. It's also slightly overpriced for what you get but not bad.. I mean, this is part of the grocery store so that's not too surprising given most items at Lunds Byerly's are $1-3 more than your average Cub foods. So, the food here is decent but not very memorable. This past visit I tried the Walleye Sandwich- came with lettuce, tomato and tarter sauce on the side. Overall average. The Chicken Caesar Salad I shared was actually really good. I have nice memories of coming here as a kid with my mom for breakfast and I think they still tend to have a good breakfast crowd. It's all stuff you can make at home but if you're just looking to go out for a simple meal this is a solid 3 star spot.
The menu is current with all the healthy trends without being Cali nutz. The decor may be somewhat outdated in that it's not dreary but it's not bright either. The greens and browns lend a darkish tone. The service was excellent as we were greeted and seated quickly and handed a menu with a nice assortment of luncheon items. The healthier section includes many salads including a salad bar choice and one with a huge piece of salmon laying across. The sandwiches below are creative with at least five sides to choose from so you don't have to settle for just fries, but they do have two kinds of fries. I'd rather pay on the way out to a cashier than wait for the server to deliver the check and then wait for the return of my card so I can sign and go. Not a serious problem but just more convenient for those who have to eat and go. The food was fresh and delightful and priced right. Keep mind this is higher quality than your Ural Mountains truck stop diner so expect to pay a little more but I felt it's a great value considering the freshness and creative menu options.
They are closed for the foreseeable future, I was told by an employee that they will not open for the rest of the year.
We enjoy this restaurant and the staff is very friendly and attentive and there is never a line except on Sunday mornings. However, most of these yelp photos are old. The menu for the last few years gets smaller and smaller. We have been visiting much less often because we are so bored with the menu. Even the specials are in the same couple week rotation. I've included a picture of the 2019/2020 menu. But even though we're bored we still go because the wine is good and cheap and the staff are fantastic.
