Mardi Gras Beignets were great, again very generous on the sauces included. Stacked Chicken Waffles were only okay. Would have been a LOT better if the sauces were on the side. Upon delivery they were lukewarm and soggy because sauces and syrup were already on them. So, if ordering, ask for everything on the side.
The butter crisp Butter-Crisp Waffles and bacon were great. Hoevever the eggs were average. The Huck's Sweet Crepes weren't favorable, the strawberry compote was great. The Country Reds is cooked good but needs seasoning. The 2 Sweet Cream Flapjacks were average.
The Monte Cristo is my favorite so I was disappointed in this particular order. The fruit was great but the sandwich was dry, mostly turkey and barely cheese so I ate half and the rest I guess I'm going to have to throw out.
Order was wrong, I ordered the Tom's Scramble with sunny side up eggs got scrambled, order with reds potatoes got hash browns, the Mardi Gras Beignets had literally no powder sugar, no flavor, and undercooked. The Tom scramble was bland (no seasoning). The gravy was good. Unfortunately huckleberry has really slacked on quality over the years, and it's a true shame. Have been eatting there for years, use to eat at the nipmo ca store by SLO, every time we were out there visiting family, but I think this was my last time as it was the third chance in the last year.
Food lacks seasoning. We tried the 1/2 LB Rib Eye Steak platter and The Cajun Omelet. It really was plain. Ill have to doctor it up later. Strange thing is the toast was salted, salted butter but the food had no seasoning . If want bland food this is the place! The Huck's Sweet Crepes was okay and the Huck's Swamp Iced Tea was okay but nothing special. Womt go here again.
