Not just a server for my two seat party. Loved the Cherrystone Shells and Shrimp Cocktail. My favorite entree is the sea snails. Simple and perfectly cooked every time. The small details like a bread basket with three types of choices: onion rolls, dinner rolls and the family recipe Rosinnussbrot. Delicious. They also give chalk: Selleriestöcke, carrot sticks, radishes and Ranch diving sauce.
Broken calf livers with bacon and onions are served here, which is a rarity on the island. However, there was no spices. I had to sprinkle a lot of salt on the liver and onions. Eating each piece of liver with some bacon does not improve the bland taste. The manager came to every table and introduced himself to the Diners. He explained to me that his clientele is older, and this is the reason why the chefs are eating easily season. The Jolly Bramble cocktail was sweet but potent: gin, lemon juice, simple syrup and Crème de Cassis. The alcohol was not irrigated as in some other restaurants. I couldn't drink everything. It was so strong! I will come back here to try other menus.
On Saturday evening my husband landed in this restaurant after I didn't leave at least five years before. We checked the reviews and easily disregarded them because we were?t worried about the decor, and saw there were some concerns about the new administration, but wanted only some good seafood so thought it was worth a try (again). Upon arrival we sat at a beautiful table with a view of the pond. The waiter rushed over without a warm greeting, but took our drinks order and said they had something special? and we could read them on the table. He was very unfriendly and in a hurry during each of our encounters. We shared a Caesar salad that they kindly share for us, but the salad was soggy and tasteless. The bread basket was old and stale. After trying to flag the waiter on a second glass of wine, the manager offered to get it, but ran away without recognizing my husband's empty glass or offering him another drink. Okay, finally we would get the delicious piece of fish that was our reason for coming. They were from the macadamia nut-crossed salmon special, so I ordered the seafood spaghetti on site. It was good, I enjoyed it, but the Lake Bass ?special? was nothing? Special?. The sides with which both meals came were wet green beans with roasted pepper, which was tasteless. The decor was updated in at least 20 years, but worse than that is the incessant service and food that Jolly Fisherman has always known. I'm sorry I don't return.
The food is delicious and the waiting staff very attentive. You've been here for over 9 years and the food tastes the same! Love the ambience, view of the lake and the restaurant. If I weren't ready, I'd come here more often!
Amazing experience in every regard. Impeccable service and food. Great ambiance on a cool Saturday in June. Nut bread was out of the world. Gorgeous Mucha in the ladies' bathroom was a delightful surprise.? According to my friend who just moved here, the food was much better than the Michelin star dinners he had in Manhattan. ?
