Had wonderful evening dining at A-Street! I ate upstairs at the bar. I liked the decor and warm feel of the place. Definitely will come back for the piano player!Started with bacon wrapped chorizo stuffed dates. Loved the combination of salty-smokey sweetness and had all the right notes of flavor. Finished with the pork chop which was cooked to perfection and was tender as can be. Leaving room for dessert next time I go for sure. Service was friendly.I also had the pleasure of meeting Kelly one of the owners. Thank you for an enjoyable evening! Will visit the restaurant again next time I'm in the Atlanta area. A must try in Roswell, Georgia!
I went to the bar upstairs to listen to the piano player who was scheduled in a half hour and have dinner. I sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine. I noticed that the bar top was covered with copper colored metal that was not level and wavy in spots. It would be easy to spill a glass if you set it down in the wrong spot. I told the bartender that I purposely came to listen to the music. I ordered an appetizer and dinner. After enjoying the wine and the brussel sprouts appetizer, which were both excellent, the bartender told me that the piano player was not coming this evening. I asked why he didn't tell me before since he knew that's why I came. He said he just found out; hmmm...... My dinner, Caldo Del Mar, consisted of some very small mussels, a few over cooked shrimp, very small bits of mahi-mahi and fingerling potatoes in a non descript broth. It was way over priced at $31 and the worst seafood and broth so called dinner I have ever had. The bartender told me that business was slow and he was just filling in. Maybe that's the reason the piano player didn't show. It could also be because the food is not very good. This restaurant has only been open about a year. Unless the food changes it won't last long. It's too bad. It's in a historic building that's almost 175 years old and has great potential. There is ample public parking behind the restaurant too. I'll give it one more chance before I write it off permanently.
It was a little strange coming in through the back parking lot and having part of restaurant blocked of by what I figured out was a private party. You couldn't see the front desk where they said to go to check in with hostess. After that why they did t have private party upstairs and the rest of restaurant downstairs I don't know) I have to say the rest was a dream come true! Great service from Stephen and the food was the best I've had in Marietta, indeed Atlanta! Not only did it taste fabulous but the presentation was beautiful like only the Japanese or French can do. I had the duck with pomegranate and broccolini and the italian version of a cheesy rice/pasta that was a perfect match. My friend has the trout with pine nuts and heart of palms salad She actually picked it because of the salad which she had had before and the reason she wanted to come back. Now we both agree the duck was the piece de resi.
Came at 6:00 finally got our checks at 8:30. it took so long to get our food, waiter was SO rude giving us bad looks, yelling, just honestly disrespectful until she probably over heard us complaining about their behavior. also they're system went down so that was also annoying. definitely not tipping. they definitely realized what they did wrong and attempted to be overly nice to save themselves. not here for it. french fries were so dry and crunchy.
