Tanaka Japanese - Roswell

It was absolutely fantastic and incredibly fresh. I ended up ordering three rounds of nigiri! The uni practically melted in my mouth, and my two-year-old devoured five pieces of tamago nigiri. The spicy scallop roll was just perfect!

We returned to sample some different dishes, and although our selection wasn’t as impressive this time, I would still recommend Tanaka! The shumai reminded me of frozen snacks you’d find at the grocery store, and the nigiri didn’t stand out. I would suggest sticking with the spicy tuna crunch roll with toro and their small plates.

After trying other restaurants like Tanaka, you really come to appreciate this place. I hope they remain in business for decades to come. This is the best traditional Japanese sushi and sashimi restaurant in the greater Atlanta/Sandy Springs/Roswell area! We've dined here over 40 times and have never left hungry or disappointed. We decided to try Bishoku and Circle Sushi for the first time, thinking we might switch things up, but honestly, Tanaka is our go-to spot for sushi as long as we're in Georgia.

My favorite Japanese restaurant! The sushi bar is small and there are not many tables. It gets full quickly in the evening. Being half Japanese, when I am missing my mother, I go for dinner or get a carry out. It reminds me of my childhood. I have never been disappointed at this restaurant.

Very good food and service. Intimate interior spaces and all sweetly tucked away inside a strip mall! Sushi offerings were interesting and well prepared. The unagi was excellent, along with the tobiko and Ikura! Did not try dessert, but did experience a delicious saki. Looking forward to a return trip soon!
