Bexhill Shiplu Tandoori - Rother

Had a lovely curry last night with the family, Curry was delicious and freshly cooked. Nice restaurant decor and friendly staff. Would highly recommend!

Never will i use this restaurant again, after a long time NOT using it(,as it had become so poor on quality of food, diabolical service) i thought i would call for a delivery, only for the phone to be answered by a SHOUT of Shiplu to which i replied, can i order a take away please? What you want ... the person was rude, arrogant, unhelpful, obviously did not want to take my order as he continued in this manner, until he then yelled can 't hear you, speak up .. I suggest they learn some simple manners, remember they are not the once great The only curry restaurant in the area ... they are not, there are others that are so much better... treat their paying customers with respect.

Super Duper Food and Service…Fast efficient staff very courteous and loved that the owner offered us an extra dish of their personal favourite menu .. Definitely going again

Slightly strange situation as we went to a charity quiz with a total of 45 people, this was all prearranged and as we travelled a distance and allowed for the unexpected hold-up we were first, even before the organisers had arrived. I in particular was already on the backfoot as I 'd looked on here to see what to expect and found the recent reports to be less than flattering. We were greeted in a friendly manner and shown to the table allocated to our names, being early our initial drink order was served very quickly along with poppadom 's. Others arrived and filled the tables. The food was served as a buffet in heated pans, I fail to recall what was in them all but as there must have been at least 15 and my plate simply wasn 't big enough to 'have a bit of everything '. Each and every element of the meal was delicious, all was nicely cooked and tasty, the meat content being tender and seemingly freshly cooked (unlike many similar restaurants where meat seems to be pre-cooked and chucked in the sauce to heat through). Being a fixed price buffet the included dessert was a bowl of grapes and orange segments which rounded the meal off quite nicely, some elected to have desserts from the regular menu. The staff were all friendly and efficient, at times a touch slow but with 45 diners reaching the same point of the meal at the same time it was inevitable and the minor delay was acceptable. I can 't think of any downsides to our evening and all of our table made very positive comments. Reading the previous negative reports I can only think something must have gone wrong at that time

We received excellent service and great food….. one of the best Dhansak’s you could taste… Aloo Chat Bhajees and Korma all great all fresh… a traditional indian restaurant friendly and welcoming, Bexhill’s best!
