This is not a restaurant where after 30 seconds you have put a menu in the face where a plate is dropped after 5 minutes before you and where you want to leave after 30 seconds. This is a unique, beautiful, multidimensional experience. The location is unique, full of surprises when you explore a little, and invites you to be yourself. The waiters are very professional, knowledgeable and friendly if you want to deal with them. And the food is, seriously, spirit blows. I don't often go to restaurants (1-4 times a month) because I don't like to sit in a place where I feel that I have to fit, feel ashamed when I order water, and then pay whatever, 10, 20, 30 euros for a meal that is moderate. I'm an ok cook, and most of the time I prefer to prepare what at home. I eat vegan, mostly, and you rarely feel that someone really gets the mind to make only the best food without any idea of what it is “observed”. Here you will be presented with a magical mix of ingredients that are in perfect harmony, unlimited creativity and quality without arrogance that I have not seen yet. Wow! PS: Also a whisky sour that must come directly from heaven.
Great food and drinks. The waiting staff was very friendly and helpful. Great atmosphere and view from our table.
I came to Aloha low waste food bar because I wanted to show my friend who is not from here something typical Rotterdam and I was not disappointed! We had the best view of the three iconic Rotterdam Bridges and I absolutely loved the juxtaposition of the old, rustic parts of the swimming pool with the modern interior of the restaurant. Not only was the location itself already worth it, I love the concept of low-waste and local food fine dining experience.
Have been here before and the experience wasn’t the best but maybe it was because of COVID. This time around it was great. Their dirty martini was really good. Bitterballen and fries were pretty good. Our waiter (brown haired guy with glasses) was new and still really nice and helpful.
Situated in the former Tropicana swimming pool, they have some interesting combinations on their menu. Friendly waiters. Restroom looks a bit cobbled together, but the restaurant has a lovely view along the Maas river, interior looks nice.
