Gov's Sports Bar - ROTTNEST ISLAND

Weekend stay in Rottnest, attended for family celebration, staff uninterested, asked us if we had considered eating elsewhere on the island and that it was a 40minute wait. We sat down and were ignored, not provided a menu or any acknowledgement and when we eventually gave up waiting and left we noticed a few other tables of disgruntled patrons who were all without meals, drinks or menus. The level of service provided seems to be the trend at this particular venue. We went and enjoyed ourselves with great service at Frankie's on Rotto, and we can totally recommend their welcoming service and attitudes. Thanks!

This is a good spot to come for a few drinks between riding around and swimming, they have a TAB so you can have a little bet. It’s a more relaxed vibe than hotel Rottnest, shame it didn’t have the same views as there The food looked really nice but we didn’t eat here unfortunately. Would definitely come back!

My partner and I stopped by for a few drinks at this restaurant. I just want to express my gratitude to the two bartenders who were working on April 25th. Despite the rainy weather at closing time, they kindly lent us an umbrella to help us get back to our accommodations. One of the gentlemen even escorted a older lady home due to the bad weather. These guys truly deserve a raise for their outstanding service and friendly attitude. Thank you for everything.

On a Saturday lunchtime during the first day of school holidays, we were pleasantly surprised by how empty the restaurant was. We each had a few drinks, and though the beer selection was limited, there was still plenty to choose from. The setup was great, and we eventually moved to the Riva restaurant where we had made a reservation for lunch. To our surprise, we were the only patrons there. The staff explained that they were serving the Gov's menu instead of the usual Riva menu due to Covid restrictions. This change didn't bother us too much since we had already enjoyed a few drinks. The menu offered typical pub fare at reasonable prices. The chicken wings were delicious and came in a generous portion. The burger was simple and the fish and chips were decent in size and taste. Though we were disappointed we couldn't try the original menu, we understood the circumstances and still had a good overall experience. The staff was efficient and friendly throughout our visit.
