We had a look at several restaurants within walking distance of our hotel, & selected this one because we were tempted by the special dinner offer of pork cooked in a wood oven. This came with frites & salad & it was really good. Our other choice of lamb was also tasty served with herb mashed potatoes & a rich sauce. Service was excellent, we were warm and comfortable on a chilly night & the bill was surprisingly modest.
Nice little restaurant with a good set menu for 19 euros. The starter needed extra seasoning, the main was ok, nothing special, but the dessert was excellent. That got it from a 3 to a 4
Last night stopover in Rouen following a week further south. We happened on this restaurant by chance this year, but next time will definitely return! We all had the set menus, three of us having a tuille crepe with neufchatel and roasted apple puree. My daughter had the hake on a chorizo risotto which was delicious. My husband had fois gras to start, followed by a perfectly cooked steak and homemade fries. The peache tart tatin was devine, my husband had a selection of cheeses and a homemade raspberry and white chocolate macaron. The total meal for four, with wine and soft drinks was extremely good value at €135.Worth finding this place and definitely worth choosing one of the set menus.
Although the service was great, I was not happy with my mealI ordered the chicken which was very over-cooked and dry.
