A family-run business with a large selection of high-quality charcuterie (their jambon à l’os, also known as jambon d’york, is the best I ever had. is responsible for the labor and his mother and his wife are the two loving ladies who are responsible for loading. they also have a restaurant next door that serves very hearty, traditional French cuisine to unbeatable trips in consideration of quality.
We visited on Monday afternoon, looking for a cheap meal and we were not disappointed. we chose from the prix fixedee menu, 18 € for three courses, a drink and coffee. for beginners we had a salmon medallion and a vol-au valve with sauce...financier for the net had rubbed my wife in a cream sauce while I had plow d’agneau rouennaise, a mixture of lamb sausage meat and tasted feet coated in brothcrumbs. I won't order again. for dessert we had both Tarte-Citron, a wonderfully light and tard tart. the service was somewhat slow, but the waiters were very pleasant. the big restaurant was busy in the ground floor, but none of the first floor table. all patrons seemed to be local and contributed to a sociable atmosphere.
We were in a day when it never stopped raining more than 15 hours! we were so glad that we decided to maison hardy, which is located in a opposite with many restaurants. we were drawn to that there are already many people in the inner but also of the colorful and enticing edible mortal in the window of the tender loading alonside it. we sat steadfast and enjoyed a nice warm tasty lunch, we had plat du jour, one with stuffed tomato and the other with steak in red wine sauce, both excellent and with a glass wein we set up again for the faces of the elements. plat du jour €9.50... excellent value.
This is the restaurant side of a traiteur shop which sells ready made dishes to take home and is not grand but authentic. We loved eating here and the menu is excelllent value- 18.50, for starter, main and cheese or dessert, with a large choice,...as well as wine or cider and coffee. Unbeatable especially considering the location. The service is friendly too. Will definitely pay a return visit.
