The 4 of us enjoyed the outside seating on a beautiful evening. The service was very attentive and friendly. My Mark Twain cocktail was very good so I had two! My wife and I split Brussels sprouts which were delicious. My wife had the chicken under a brick, which I tasted and was delicious. What disappointed me was my entree of veal. It was cooked to my order and was very tender, but had little flavor. I had expected more since it was relatively expensive. We finished the meal with a Nutella mousse which was quite tasty.
No way it deserves a 4.8/5 Star rating on OpenTable. The free buttered corn bread was delish and the waiter happily brought out a second bucket on request. The Philly Cheese Steak was tasty but LACKED Steak! Fries were crispy, plentiful but largely tasteless. Other luncheon samplings were very good but not great. Indoor seating was cramped and the noise level was loud despite visible signs of abatement.
It’s been a few years since we’ve been and I sadly have to downgrade my review. We were seated for about 15 minutes when we were asked hurriedly if we wanted drinks and that someone would be with us shortly. Drinks came but it took about half an hour from when we arrived for our order to be taken. We watched tables around us seated at the same time have orders taken and their delicious corn bread served while we sat. Seems we were ignored or forgotten about.Food came quickly after the order had been taken but the long overdue date night with the wife was degraded by then.Food was good. Drinks were ok.
Fantastic experience here! Cozy, warm, and with friendly service, and everything we ordered was excellent. Definitely will be back. Kid-friendliness: Go early with a well behaved kid, and they’ll be well taken cars of. There’s a kid’s menu with appropriately priced kids classics, and the staff dote on kids. Just go at the beginning of service, I’d say.
