Food are pretty consistent- literally how it remembered when I last had it a couple yrs ago. But the price had gone up pretty significantly which was not surprising. We had 麻油腰花 鹹蛋苦瓜 五更腸旺 酸菜牛肉 all were delicious. Very authentic Taiwanese Would definitely come back
Food was descent. Kinda expensive though. Cash only but they never told us on the phone when we ordered. Came out to $76. When we got there, we were $1.60 short. They kept saying we told you, but they didn't. They made me goto the ATM down the street. I should have just left and said since I'm short just a little, then I won't buy the food. But we went and did it. But we will never come back. A reputable American restaurant would have let it go. These guys are cash only cuz they they aren't paying their taxes. But too cheap to let less than $2 go cuz they don't want to take credit cards, venmo, or debit and didn't inform me of cash only. So I won't ever go there again. Bad business practice. I've given so much extra business to businesses that were understanding. This will not be one of them.
I was came for 大腸豬血湯 !not too bad, the place is really small easy to get full don't come at dinner time it could be long wait. Next time I want to try stinky tofu !
Chef's Kitchen was recommended to us by a friend so here we are. It is not a large place, simple and functional. Food is star that really got us here. #64 mixed cold-cut appetizer is really tasty. Highly recommended. #55 shredded pork with bean curd is good too. #41 sliced fish is white sauce and #30 kung-pao chicken tasted as expected. They are a few othi items I wanted to try, but they will have to wait. Service here is just the basic. We had to flag someone down to place our order. It was an effort to get water later. Food came out pretty quickly, which I liked.
Every so often I'll pull into a random strip mall/plaza just to see what there is to eat. I'm glad this is the restaurant I chose. The PORK AND RICE is delicious. Fried pork chop, braised pork chop, fried tofu, bok choy, and a braised egg. Hmmm Taiwanese good at its best. Ask for some red chili oil to go with it and you're golden. The lady at the front was super nice too, definitely someone's mom and took care of me like I was a nephew visiting from out of town. Would come again.
