Yums The Fried Squid Balls and Fried Chicken were both wonderfully and generously seasoned. Thankfully, the distinct taste of savory saltiness wasn't what made these snacks a trademark for this shop, but something to remember whenever you find yourself in the area! The drinks especially do not create an overly sweet taste and the boba is both plentiful AND soft and sweet to the bite! Easy Convenience The shop itself is easy to find and the shop provides you with small sticks and utensils for eating your foods! Granted that the sticks for the small sticks are thin, they don't break easily and allow you to do some guesswork when blindly searching in the bottom for remaining snacks! There's also been practically no wait time for the various visits and the orders get taken quick! Lustre What sets this place apart from other shops is the authentic Taiwanese cuisine that you can find from its origins! Both in representation style and taste, this is definitely a place to take you back and remind you of those good street food days. It's even located inside a market to find more asian-loved snacks and drinks to take home! Price to Portion No complaints here! The price does certainly pay for the portions especially for $9 for what seems to be an endless bag of Squid Balls and Fried Chicken!
The food here is excellent. The staff is extremely friendly. However, service may be a bit slow as it is a small family-owned restaurant. I would suggest calling ahead to place your order if you are in a hurry.
Their popcorn chicken is delicious, but the spice level could use a boost. The service is quick, so you won't have to wait long. The staff is also very friendly. I highly recommend this place.
Ordered the Green Tea Latte. It was made with matcha powder and shaved ice. Was a litte too bitter for me (because of the matcha, which I should have known! but the boss lady was kind enough to add more sugar for me and re-blend my drink. $5.25 for a drink is super cheap for LA, so I'm super happy with both the service and the price : The location is also inside the Hong Kong Supermarket, near the main automatic double doors, so if you're in the area, it's a convenient place to stop by!
Spending 15 minutes on an order of popcorn chicken that cost $10 was not worthwhile, as the chicken pieces were only small and there were a lot of crumbs.
