It can be difficult to find good vegetarian options in Bolivia, but at Luz the Mar they do an exceptional job. They offer a special vegetarian and vegan menu, and their menu del día, priced at 15 Bolivianos, always includes a vegetarian option. Additionally, the staff is incredibly friendly. On our last night, we enjoyed a chat and a drink with them. Don't miss out on this place when you're in Rurrenabaque!
The menu offers seven vegan dishes, with the falafel being the best I've had in years. The quinoa salad is said to be heavenly, and the fresh pineapple juice was expertly made. The avocado "caprese" dish is truly inspired.
The lunch menu was vegan for only 28 bs. (included a soup, a few toasts and tacos) which was good. I had a burger with fries in the evening which was ok, it was just fried veggies with wholegrain bread.
We were a week in rurrenabaque and went to lunch and dinner to luz the mar. it may be difficult to find beautiful veggie eating in bolivia, but here they do an amazing job. there is a special vegetarian and vegan menu and the menu del día (that is only 15bol and includes a starter, drink, suppe and main course) has always a veggie option. in addition: the personal is so friendly. in our last night we had a chat and a drink together. Do not miss this place when they are in rurre!
Seven vegan options on the menu, including the best authentic falafel I had in many years. the Quinoa salad was called divine. the fresh pineapple juice was excellently prepared. avocado caprese' is inspired.
