Service here was incredibly poor, nobody seemed to know what they were doing and everything took absolutely ages, our food somehow arrived a long time before our drinks so we had to ask about those. Then the wrong drinks came! Food was ok on the whole but the kids meal was pretty awful it was just bland tasteless food. We live nearby so thought this may be a lovely place to visit more often but sadly we won’t be back!
Excited to try this as found on the Michelin app. Must have had an off day as we went for a roast dinner and it was dreadful. Gravy resembled dirty dishwater it was that thin, tasteless food lacking basic seasoning and soggy veg. Meat was well cooked but again was tasteless. Atmosphere was not great either, was just chaotic and not at all relaxing. First place I have ever been when I have been excited to leave!
The food quality at this restaurant was poor. The potato with the fish was tasteless and the bacon was disappointing. The combination of chips, eggs, and coleslaw was strange and had a chemical taste. The extra portion of chips was bland and tasteless, and even broke a guest's tooth when they bit down on something hard. The bill came to £42 for just 1 pint of beer, which we felt was outrageous considering the subpar food we were served.
I checked the restaurant's website beforehand and saw that they had the same wine listed for £19. When I asked the waiter about this discrepancy, I was informed that the website's wine menu was outdated and that the £44 bottle was the only New Zealand wine they had. Because the bottle had already been opened, they couldn't do anything about it. I felt a bit ripped off and it definitely put a damper on my birthday celebration lunch.
This Sunday lunch was the worst I've ever had! It was a huge disappointment. The potatoes were hard and tasteless, the cabbage was chewy and difficult to cut, and the pork was too tough to eat. The gravy was watery and lacked flavor, and the pink beef was raw and fatty. The sticky toffee pudding had been microwaved too much. The only good part of the meal was the bottle of coke. We spent £100 for this meal, and it was a complete waste. Come on Ruddy Arms, you are usually so much better than this!
