We dined at the pub three times during our four-day stay and were impressed by the exceptional service and delicious food. The beds were comfortable and the entire establishment was clean and well-maintained.
My party of 11 dined at this restaurant the night before my daughter's wedding. We had pre-ordered our food and had plenty of options to choose from. The prices were very reasonable. The restaurant was quite busy, but we were promptly seated and served drinks. The food all arrived at once and was delicious. The sea bass on a bed of daal was a particular standout. The other dishes also looked appetizing. There was a good selection of desserts and specials. The highlight of the evening was the friendly and helpful landlady who made us feel like regulars. She even arranged a taxi for two of our guests for the following evening. Despite the half-hour drive from our home, we will definitely return to this special little gem of a restaurant.
This restaurant is a hidden gem, offering fantastic accommodations, delicious food, and excellent service. It's always my top choice when I'm in the area.
The thing that stood out the most, of an overall very pleasant stay, were the staff. They were all very friendly and welcoming and were very helpful. We had two rooms and they were both spacious and very clean, they looked as if they had been recently decorated. There were lovely views over the fields from the back overlooking the large beer garden. We had a meal there in the evening and had a good selection to chose from, including a children’s menu. The breakfasts were of a good size too. If we were breaking up a long journey again we’d be back.
Very disappointing Sunday roast dinner. We all chose the beef which was just ok. The roast carrots though were really unpleasant, they been seasoned or cooked with a herb which we couldn’t quite identify the flavour of which permeated through the rest of the plate. We heard some other diners commenting on this too. Also the roast potatoes were very poor. It seemed they had been cooked and reheated by deep frying which made them hard. No point complaining about four dinners on the day, we were hungry so ate up and paid. We just won’t return again.
