Hooks Waterfront And Grill - Ruskin

This restaurant truly shines because of its fantastic waterfront location. It has a laid-back vibe where you can arrive by boat and feel perfectly comfortable in your swimsuit. The menu offers a nice variety of options, typical of a charming waterside eatery. We ordered the fried shrimp and crab cakes, both of which were tasty. There's a decent selection of drinks available as well. The service was quick and welcoming. This isn’t a five-star dining experience, and they don’t aim to be. Come here for the beautiful views and relaxed atmosphere. We forgot to snap photos of our food because we were too hungry, but we’ll definitely visit again by boat!

During my wait, I noticed at least two parties who arrived after me were served before I was. I ordered coconut shrimp and crab cakes. The coconut shrimp were burnt and rubbery—clearly overcooked—and the crab cake was so mushy that it fell apart the moment I tried to pick it up. I sent everything back and was told they could fix it. However, I immediately declined, as both waitresses tried to convince me that the food was acceptable, even after they had seen it for themselves (I’ll be posting pictures as well). If you enjoy good food, I strongly advise you to eat anywhere but here.

This is definitely one of our favorite places to eat. The food is amazing, especially the shrimp tacos! We usually order around 2 PM, and the chef never disappoints. The service is outstanding, as the staff is attentive, fun, and goes out of their way to ensure you have a great experience. We love it here!

Can't think of a more relaxing and friendly place that also has great food and drinks. Our waitress, Diedre, greeted us like we were old friends. Can't wait to go back there
