Greeks Town Gyros - Rutherford

Has there been a change in ownership? I was really disappointed with my platter tonight. The meat used to come in thick, juicy slices, but the gyro I had was dry, shriveled, and quite small, lacking flavor. If I had known the fries had changed as well, I definitely wouldn’t have ordered them and would have gone for the potatoes instead, hoping they’d be an improvement. Unfortunately, they tasted like frozen potatoes but even worse—there wasn't even any salt on them. I ended up throwing them away. I might consider driving a little farther for Greek food next time if this is the only option available.

The food was absolutely delicious! I would rate it a perfect 5. The service also received a 5 for being excellent, and the atmosphere deserves a 5 as well for creating a wonderful dining experience.

This is a family-owned restaurant that offers delicious and fresh food, beautifully presented with care. The service is warm, friendly, and efficient. My husband and I are regular patrons, visiting this charming restaurant every month, and we love the menu, which includes everything from delightful soups and salads to an array of fantastic specials. About 15 years ago I dropped by this place on a lark and ordered a gyro. At the time Jimmy (I heard today that he retired) served up my gyro in record time and I was amazed at the quantity and quality of the food. Since I 've made it a habit to drop by whenever in the area and have never been disappointed. Yes, the place is rather small, but I personally like the intimacy. My wife is very particular about her food and even she loves the place so do yourself a favor and drop in whenever you can. After your meal, the neighborhood is great for casual walking so give it a try too.
